Historic soccer is an event that takes place in Florence every year around the last days of June.
It developed in the second half of 5th century, when young Florentines usually practiced in streets and squares but it became famous for its continuous body fights for the possession of the ball.
Nowadays the competition is between the four districts of the city, each one is represented by a color:
- “the white” of Santo Spirito
- “the red” of Santa Maria Novella
- “the green” of San Giovanni
- “the blue” of Santa Croce
So if you’ve never seen it, well you can’t miss it!
A unique and unforgettable experience.
Next week there will be the final of the 2014 tournament: “White” against” Red” at 5 p.m. in Santa Croce Square.
